Television 2007: The best moments

Reality shows
Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Indian Idol and Star Voice of India gained even more popularity than previous years. In fact, they were such a hit that big Bollywood releases used the platform to promote the films.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa was popular because it had participants from different parts of the country, as well as abroad, and showcased real talent. The participants were trained by their respective mentors -- Himesh Reshammiya, Ismail Darbar, Vishal-Shekhar and Bappi Lahiri.
The show was also spiced up with regular fights among the mentors.
The third season of Indian Idol seemed to unite the country, and bring the North-East into focus. Winner Prashant Tamang hailed from Darjeeling while Amit Paul hailed from Shillong.
Star Voice of India showcased quality singers and was judged by Jatin- Latin, Aadesh Shrivastav, Alka Yagnik and Abhijeet.

Dance Shows
Celebrity dance shows like Nach Baliye 3 and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 2 were enjoyable, and both shows ended controversially.
Rakhi Sawant and boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi lost out to Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh, and made quite a fuss about it.
In Jhalak, Prachi Desai and her choreographer partner Deepak won the title, even though runner-ups Sandhya Mridul and Javed received a standing ovation for their performance.

Comedy Circus
Audiences, seemingly tired of daily soaps, lapped up the reality comic shows as well.
Comedy Circus paired up telly actors and professional stand-up comedians, and they were expected to entertain people. The best part of the show was that the pairs did not have a script at all, and yet, provided a lot of laughs.

Left Right Left
Left Right Left was not like the regular saas-bahu soaps, and was quite a refreshing watch.
The serial was a mix of intrigue, romance and humour.

Kasamh Se
Ekta Kapoor's Kasamh Se tells the story about the journey of sisters from a small town to Mumbai, and how their relationships undergo changes with situations and time.

Dharti Ka Veer Yodha -- Prithvi Raj Chauhan
Prithviraj Chauhan is the most lavish teleserial ever made. It shows Prithviraj's journey from a young prince to a responsible king. The serial also gives viewers a fascinating look into the lifestyle of kings, their culture and cuisines.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi...
One of the longest running serials on Star Plus is Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu. Even after seven years, Kyunki tops the charts.

Choona Hai Aasmaan
This serial revolves around a dedicated mission commander, Arya Veer Pratap, and his team of six committed professionals -- brave men and women who are devoted to wiping out terrorism from India.

Virrudh
The serial consists of politics, mystery, family drama, and power games. It is different from most other boring family dramas.

Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii
Kahaani is a drama series produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefims. The story revolves around the Agarwal family, with Om (Kiran Karmarkar) and Parvati (Sakshi Tanwar) playing the protagonists.

Banoo Main Teri Dulhan
Banoo is the story of a submissive, illiterate Vidya who finds herself helpless when she enters the rich Thakur household. To add to it, she encounters hostility from her sisters-in-law.
